T3 Requirements Testing and Verification

A discussion and workshop reviewing the need for and benefits of testing the Requirements documentation. In particular the workshop focuses on methods for involving the System test team (or other group of dynamic testers normally involved in test execution) in the process of testing the requirements.

The objective of the seminar is to investigate methods of involving testers in requirements testing as an alternative to establishing a formal reviews process. This may be appropriate in circumstances where reviews are not practical or for some reason cannot currently be established.

The workshop investigates Early Test Case Design, formal Reading Techniques and Requirements Testing processes focusing on practical exercises with the techniques rather than a presentation based discussion.

Joe Elledge

Following 10 years as a lawyer in the City of London, Joe has worked for SQS as a test consultant for 9 years. He has experience in manual and automated functional testing both as a member of project teams and as team leader and also as a Load and Performance tester and team leader. Having helped deliver many projects to clients across a variety of industries Joe has focussed on mentoring and training for the last 3 years, delivering to both internal staff and clients. During his time focussed on training Joe has developed a keen interest in the matter of requirements and requirements definition, attending the ISEB requirements engineering course in order to view requirements from both the engineer’s and tester’s perspective.
