“Delivering High Quality Software & Solutions”
The UK Award for “Delivering High Quality Software & Solutions” - sponsored by BCS, Amsphere and SQS-UK - will give recognition to individuals who have made a significant contribution to their organisation within the field of delivering and improving Software Quality or System Quality. In its 3rd year, the winner of this prestigious award will benefit from a £1,000 prize. In addition SQS-UK will provide a special attendance package at Software & Systems Quality Conference UK 2007 (SQC) to include conference programme, travel, overnight accommodation and attendance at the conference VIP Dinner.
Last year’s winner Kevin Spencer, Test Manager,
Lloyds TSB receiving his award from Ricky Shankar
CEO Amsphere, 2005 to 2007 Award Sponsor
Kevin's exemplary work, attitude and
pragmatism to the (Sarbanes Oxley) project
not only delivered on time, but without any
service outage being attributable to the
project implementations.
Over 2,000
separate changes were successfully delivered
in three months under extreme pressure
from this organisationally threatening piece of
work. Also, in a somewhat uncommon
occurrence for the IT sector, the costs for the
testing phase were under budget! A fantastic
achievement for Kevin and LTSB.
We are asking mnagers to forward nominations for the award. The criteria on which the nominations will be judged by the independent SQC programme committee are:
Innovation – the nominee has succeeded by using a fresh approach, a new technique or by the enhanced application of an existing technique.
Benefit – The nominee has brought significant and visible benefit to their organisation and/or the testing industry as a whole.
Benefits might include:
New efficiencies attained or cost savings
More effective use of resource
Delivering significant cost savings
Significant improvements achieved in reducing critical quality issues or problems
Taking the lead – For example, the nominee was instrumental in delivering the benefit and was the key to achieving success.
Initiative –Recognising an opportunity and exploiting it fully. The nominee may have overcome significant obstacles to achieve their goal.
Industry Improvement - Involves the nominee taking the initiative to share their experiences so that others may learn –for example by delivering a significant paper or presentation at a conference, by undertaking educational workshops or by publishing features within industry journals.
The nominations should be received by 5pm on September 14th 2007 and will be judged by the SQC programme board and the winner will be announced during SQC Conference UK 2007, 2nd and 3rd October 2007.
