How it's going to work

Only six exhibitors will have the opportunity to give a talk.
Exhibitors will have a ten minute slot in which to stand up and shamelessly plug your services and products.

The challenge is to do it without powerpoint slides. You will be allowed one slide with your company name and branding on it, which will be displayed throughout your talk.

We would encourage you to be as interactive as possible with the audience and you will be able to hand out copies of your talk along with any other promotional material as you see fit. You may also give us your presentation before the conference to put on to the conference USB stick handed out to all delegates.

Your ten minute slot will be strictly timed and you will not be allowed to run over as this will cut into the time available for the other five exhibitors.

The talks will be advertised in the programme, on the website and at each of the presentations before the lunch break.

Mike Simons, editor of Computer World will be acting as the compère and will announce your talk.

The Brand Ambassadors will hand out flyers to people in the morning and will encourage people to attend.

How it's going to work

We are running this as a charity event. We will donate £500 to the Exhibitor chosen by the panel and the audience for the best ‘Big Idea’ to give to the charity of your choice.
This is a more light hearted event, but also gives you an opportunity to advertise yourself and your organisation.

Only six exhibitors will get a chance to present their ‘Big Idea’.

Suggested areas for Big Ideas could include (but not exclusively);

  • New products
  • New software solutions
  • New and innovative testing methodologies
  • New ways of doing things that result in increased efficiency and productivity
  • Training

With the theme of productivity, we would encourage you to have ideas relating to how you can improve productivity.

The ‘Big Idea’ will be put to a panel of three experts*:
  • Richard Noble
  • Peter Francome , Vodafone
  • Paul Herzlich , Ovum

You will get two minutes to talk through the Idea.

This is followed by a further three minutes of clarification questions by the panel.

They will then give a précis of whether they think the idea is feasible or not.

An added twist will be that they will be given buzzers and if you don’t hold their attention they can buzz you off ‘X-factor’ style before you have finished your talk.

At the end of the six presentations, the panel will select their favourite two who will then be called back on to the stage. These will then be put to the audience and the final decision will be determined by the scientific method of the loudest applause!

The winner will receive a cheque for £500 which you donate to the charity of your choice.

Please send in an abstract of your idea so that panel can prepare some sensible questions to ask you.

*The panel will be fully briefed before the event to ensure that they ask questions relating to the idea and that they are not too harsh or critical.

The talks will be advertised in the programme, on the website and at each of the presentations before the lunch break.

Mike Simons, editor of Computer World will be acting as the compère and will announce your talk.
