Making Test Environments Work |
| Julian Brook, SQS |
| |
Recent surveys have shown that environment issues consume 40% testers’ and developers’ time.
Creating suitable environments for development and test phases across the software development lifecycle can be a complex, costly and time-consuming activity if not understood and managed effectively. Therefore it is not surprising that environments are frequently neglected. However well organised and managed environments can have significant benefits in terms of costs and time, for both the testing and development phases and overall project.
In this 1 day tutorial, led by Julian Brook of SQS, you will explore what is needed to successfully implement and manage your test environments and the tools, technology and techniques available to help you.
Topics covered will include:
- Understand the need for quality test environments and be able to identify the business case for investment
- Understand what is needed to build, manage and control test environments
- Know where and when to use tools to automate processes, maintenance requirements and asset management
